When is IVF used?
IVF was started in the seventies of the last century, and this technique was considered a major revolution in the world of infertility treatment. IVF is used in the following cases:
- Fallopian tube obstruction.
- Male infertility, including low sperm count or severely impaired sperm motility.
- Women with ovulation disorders such as premature ovarian insufficiency.
- Infertility of unknown cause after failure of other procedures.
IVF may be a solution to some genetic problems, as embryos can be examined before implantation, thus avoiding the birth of an infected child, and this analysis will enable parents to choose and determine the sex of the fetus if they wish.
